There was a little break in the weather so we quickly got dressed for the cold and headed out. We hiked up the hill that is just beyond our backyard. One of the wind turbines rests at the top and that was our goal.
No longer than 5 minutes into our mini hike it began to rain. We continue on. Crossing electric fences and dodging cow pies we make our way up the steep hill. The wind turbines are massive. We arrive back home soaked but it was an adventure and we are glad for it.
At 645 we are all a little giddy as we wait for the clock to hit 7 so we can head downstairs for supper at the Gerber-Liniger residence.
To share a meal with strangers is something we have never done. We feel honored to be invited.
For dinner they have a traditional Swiss meal of raclette. Raclette is a type of melting cheese that they heat in a raclette oven that sits right on the table. With it they served onions, garlic, tomatoes, baked potatoes and pickled zucchini. It was all so good. To drink they had black tea with milk, ohhh it was delightful. Conversation was plentiful.
They were curious about our adventure and as we
shared with them about our lives they opened up
and shared with us. It was such a rich experience.
Fred may be making a career change that will take them to Australia. We visited a lot about their decisions on that. Our lives parallel in many ways as we seek to live our lives fully for the Lord. Before we ate they asked if we sing before our meals and we told them that we pray but we wanted to see what they do. So they sang their prayer in German that thanked God for their blessings. Dennis said we need to get our own song. I'm guessing the girls will come up with some funky rap that sounds nothing like their sweet German song.

The highlight that ends my day -- reading about the adventures of the Rash family! So glad you are having a great time and willingly adjusting your plans to go with God's plans! Looks like you'll come home with many great new friends. Naomi
