Waking up to Switzerland

This bright sunflower faces the sun and follows it through out the day (heliotropsis).  I compare it to our faith and how we start our every day with looking to God for direction.  If our eyes are fixed on Jesus our days will be bright.  He has great plans for us.

The lonely road I trudge up offers many new sights.  Many trees have been cleared but new ones have been planted and are protected with plastic tubes around their tender trunks.

Wild strawberries grow abundantly on the mountain side.

I think I hear a bicycle bell but no, it's the goats.   The more mature goats have bells on their necks while the baby goats do not.  The land is so vast that if they would wander astray their owner could find them.  I suppose the little ones follow their parents and don't need bells.

I think of Raleigh and how his actions and words mimic ours and I am reminded of the huge responsibility  Dennis and I have in giving him a strong foundation in Christ, our rock, so he can grow to be a wise man.  Matthew 7:24-25 Therefore everyone who hears these words of  mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his  house on the rock.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

When I got back the whole family went on the walk.  It's a nice way to start the morning.  We were committed to relaxing our first full day since the previous day was tiresome from driving.

Raleigh grew bored with our walk and plopped himself down in the grass.
Back at the farm there were cows to pet, a kitten to hold,  bunnies, chickens and a little toy tractor for Raleigh to ride on.  He would have stayed on it all day if we let him.
A relaxing first day it was and we are thankful for it.
